Frank relished his days at Stamford School, and could surprise many (not just family members) with his ability to reel off the names of his schoolmates from years ago: he enjoyed reading, in the Old Stamfordian Club literature, about those days, and was assiduous in entering dates of departed OS's in the School Register (which dated back to 1532). He was proud of his dinner suit, but the regular increasing of the fee for the Reunion Dinners meant that he didn't wear it that often. The Old School Tie was one thing, having to fork out what he considered to be far too much for the privilege of meeting other OS's, quite another!
